Total weight gain: 15lbs
Maternity clothes? Now that I’m in the home stretch, and the weather has gotten a little warmer I’ve been basically just trying to continue to use what I have. So far not so bad, but definitely haven’t been able to be as fashionable as my old pre-preggers self…which is sad. But lets face it, not going to drop a lotta sckrill ($$$) on some maternity jams when I have a month to go. Still rubber-banding my pre-preggo pants, rocking dresses and leggings, leggings, leggings.
Stretch marks? Still no, fingers crossed.
Sleep: do I sleep? Yes. But REALLY sleep? No. That is gone gone gone. Im just too big and too uncomfortable to get into a deep sleep, most of my night is tossing and turning trying to get comfortable. My pain/numbness by my ribcage when I sleep in my left side is unbearable and kicks in after about 20-30 minutes of sleeping on it. I try to avoid as much as I can but when my right side is sore I have to switch…and so the cycle continues.
Best moment this week: My husband making me vanilla shakes.(Doctors orders, for real)
Miss Anything? Just being able to move around a little more freely and not feel so completely whalish.
Movement: Now he’s just showing off. The precision at which he can roundhouse kick my rib at just the right spot to send me into a jump, the timing of his speedbag moves to my vadge. The boy’s got skills. Oh but I love touching those little feet as they stretch out and form little peaks in my belly.
Food cravings: Still grapefruit, and lemonade.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nah.
Labor Signs: I had a spell of pre-term labor last week that lasted the better part of the day. Braxton hicks are in FULL effect, (toni braxtons, as my sister calls em) and anytime I huff it up the subway steps or around the neighborhood I get some sharp pains.
Symptoms: Ok, newest symptom this week. HOT FLASHES! And when I mean HOT, I am not kidding. I’ve had about 5 spells of these since Monday and let me tell you it is intense. I was in a meeting and all of the sudden I felt it coming on. A wave of intense heat, I thought I was going to pass out. I could feel my face get HOT, my ears were burning and my whole body just wanted to dive into an icy bath. After about 5 minutes I could feel it starting to subside but the obvious physical effects are no fun, and embarrassing I might add.
Swelling: I know I have been VERY lucky, but let me tell you I am not immune from the pregnant swell. Working late and running around has caused my feet to swell to Shallow Hal girlfriend status. My poor cankles. CANKLES people. If I’m lucky I can get Kev to give them a much needed rub, otherwise I just plop into bed and elevate and hope for the best in the morning. Lucikly everything is as normal as can be come dawn, (so far).
Belly Button in or out? in, flat as a pancake. Jury is still out on whether or not it will pop out before D-Day. .
Wedding rings on or off? on. Again there have been a few times when I go to take my engagement ring off at night and its been a little snug but in the morning it slides back on easily.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Pretty happy, though a little uncomfortable.
Looking forward to: it almost being time!
How far along? 27weeks
Total weight gain: 7lbs
Maternity clothes? I have now put away all my super skinny jeans/pants. I’ve been sticking to dresses with tights, leggings, and getting as creative as I can.
Stretch marks? none yet.
Sleep: still going ok, I have a new issue with sleeping on my left side. I’ve been getting this crazy pain under my left boob, like right at the top of my rib cage. In the morning it is so sore and numb. I’ve been trying my best to avoid the left side because of it.
Best moment this week: finally getting a seat on the subway, woohoo!
Miss Anything? Kev picked up a 6 pack of Schrimshaw at Fairway this weekend and the other night we had burgers and ooooooh I wanted one sooooo bad. Some women have told me that they didn’t even miss alcohol when they were pregnant, like they didn’t even have the taste for it. Well, this CLEARLY is not the case for me.
Movement: lots and lots. It is just the best, he is getting so much stronger and more deliberate with his moves. We also like to play a little game together when he is really active, he kicks me and I poke him back. At night I like to high five him right before we go to sleep 🙂
Food cravings: Keeping those grapefruit farmers in business what can I say. I’m up to at least 2 a day.
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing new, just anything too rich or super sweet is nobueno. Definitely NOT looking forward to my glucose test on Monday in which I have to chug a big sugar drink.
Labor Signs: no
Symptoms: back pain remains, and Kev has been a godsend with his nightly deep tissue massages and karate chops. It’s one of those “hurts so good” type of things but honestly it is the only thing that will gives me relief. I mentioned the pain/numbness I’m having under my left boob right where my rib cage meets…going to talk to my midwife about this next Monday. I’ll report back. Oh, and despite hoping I would not get the mid-line on my belly known as the linea negra, Kev so sweetly pointed out to me last night that I do, in fact have the start of this line forming below my belly button. I shed a little tear…and no, I’m not even kidding. haha. Looks like I’m not one of those lucky 25%.
Belly Button in or out? in, but its starting to look a little funny. Will keep you posted on this.

Happy or Moody most of the time: happy as a clam in the sea.
Looking forward to: vacation!!!!
With the baby on the way, you’re reminded often “sleep while you can!” While I know things are going to drastically change in that department, I can honestly say I treasure these little moments like the one below. Cuddling up with our pup sleeping a little late on a dreary Sunday.
Such a beautiful wedding, can you believe they put this whole thing together in two months?! Congrats to both of you, here are some pics from the big day:) xoxoxo
Stunning with the best man and maid of honor.
the Smalls! (not pictured, the Talls)
25 week bump, all dressed up
my love ❤
dancing the night away……
How far along? 25weeks
Total weight gain: 6lbs
Maternity clothes? The past two weeks I’ve definitely felt myself getting bigger, i’ve been wearing a lot of leggings, tights with dresses, and a few pairs of jeans that are usually just a little too big and require belts.
Stretch marks? nope.
Sleep: well its as good as its going to get I think. I got my sweet body pillow from Target, a steal at $10. Kev claims I look like a tree frog now when I sleep, it has certainly helped with the hip pain I was having. The silver lining to waking up multiple times in the night to either switch positions or pee, is feeling little mans kicks…the best.
Best moment this week: Someone coming up to me and saying. “Ok, NOW you look pregnant”
Miss Anything? belted jeans with a tucked in shirt, but only for a hot second. I love my bump.
Movement: ALL the time. He is moving, kicking, punching like crazy. I feel it all over, sometimes really high sometimes really low like almost what feels like by my tailbone, its absolutely amazing.
Food cravings: still grapefruit, and lets not forget a delicious shake shack burger.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still not a fan of anything to rich
Labor Signs: no
Symptoms: back pain. So I talked to the doctor about this, unlike what you would think would be normal prego back pain–low back pain. I have pain that feels like a dull knife is stabbing me in the middle of my back. This apparently is caused by a pinched nerve that wraps around my rib cage…yeah awesome. The worst thing for it? Sitting. So, needless to say every night I come home in excruciating pain, and proceed to lay on the hardwood floor for relief, and then beg for kev to do his fist screwdriver move on either side of my spine. This has become our ritual.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Still super happy, except for end of the day back pain
Looking forward to: heading to the DR in 3 weeks with Sam/Jens!!! CAN NOT WAIT!
Having a blast on St. Simons Island. Last night laid low while Kev partook in the bach festivities—that meant at it early this am for breakfast and then beach!!!!
Checked out the pier too. Beach was a little windy but beautiful, and scattered with dogs and the most gorgeous dunes. Rosie, you would love it here, we miss you!!!!!
Afterward we tooled around, taking in the sights and even a milkshake:) The trees here look prehistoric, I’m just waiting to see my first living velociraptor, ha.
Tonight we celebrate at the welcome party with the bride and groom to be.
En route to Luke and Katherines wedding!!!!
Friday I was home watching research all day, a little under the weather as well due to the massive amount of hours I’ve been working lately.
I got a call from my mom saying that some delivery guy (for these awesome bookcases our friend Adam had built, pics on those and the nursery soon:)) was trying to buzz me but the buzzer wasn’t working and how Kev/Adam must have given them my parents number as backup since I guess it was a surprise.
Slightly annoyed (since I knew nothing about any delivery today and was home all day and still in my PJ’s) I threw something more suitable on and went outside. THERE WERE MY PARENTS!!! SURPRISE!!!!!! awwwww aren’t they just the best?
They had planned the whole thing out with Kev—so sweet. And we hung out Fri-Monday working on sewing projects, taking long walks in the park, Mom cooked my fave Prime Rib on Friday, dinners, watching basketball, and just staring at all the cute stuff in the nursery.
It was such a fun weekend we all had a blast, here’s a quick pic of me and Mom from dinner at Flatbush Farm on Saturday night
Someone was not too thrilled about me trying to leave for work on Weds.
How far along? 23 weeks
Total weight gain: 3lbs.
Maternity clothes? not really, still rubber-banding my regular pants and opting for dresses with tights and leggings. I break out my one pair of mat jeans about every other week.
Stretch marks? nope.
Sleep: on a scale of 1-10, 10 being worst. I give it a 7. Not great my hips and back have really been hurting. We flipped our mattress and I’ve been doing my best to keep on my side at night with a pillow between my knees but I’m going to bit the bullet and get a body pillow—make room Kevs!
Best moment this week: sitting in long boring meetings (wait it gets better I promise) and then all of sudden baby kicks, moves, swirls. Reminds me how lucky I am to be pregnant, carrying this little baby around with me everywhere.
Miss Anything? Getting ready in the am is frustrating, I feel like I can never look cute and I always have to reinvent my outfits around this bump. Its a constant struggle.
Movement: Comes in spurts, baby loves to do these crazy moves around 930-10pm every night where it will contort itself into some crazy position and my stomach will BULGE looking like there’s an ALIEN in there.
Food cravings: mainly acidic things GRAPEFRUIT, lemonade, an occasional fountain coke.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Anything too rich, sauces, duck etc.
Gender: Baby BOY!!!!
Labor Signs: lets hope not.
Symptoms: still getting dizzy fairly often, fatigue.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy and grateful and very excited.
Looking forward to: a babymoon hopefully!!! I’ve been trying on my bikinis non-stop and I want to get some sun before this bump gets too big!!!
