St. Simons day 2

Having a blast on St. Simons Island. Last night laid low while Kev partook in the bach festivities—that meant at it early this am for breakfast and then beach!!!!

Checked out the pier too. Beach was a little windy but beautiful, and scattered with dogs and the most gorgeous dunes. Rosie, you would love it here, we miss you!!!!!

Afterward we tooled around, taking in the sights and even a milkshake:) The trees here look prehistoric, I’m just waiting to see my first living velociraptor, ha.

Tonight we celebrate at the welcome party with the bride and groom to be.

Up up and away

En route to Luke and Katherines wedding!!!!

Friday I was home watching research all day, a little under the weather as well due to the massive amount of hours I’ve been working lately.

I got a call from my mom saying that some delivery guy (for these awesome bookcases our friend Adam had built, pics on those and the nursery soon:)) was trying to buzz me but the buzzer wasn’t working and how Kev/Adam must have given them my parents number as backup since I guess it was a surprise.

Slightly annoyed (since I knew nothing about any delivery today and was home all day and still in my PJ’s) I threw something more suitable on and went outside. THERE WERE MY PARENTS!!! SURPRISE!!!!!! awwwww aren’t they just the best?

They had planned the whole thing out with Kev—so sweet. And we hung out Fri-Monday working on sewing projects, taking long walks in the park, Mom cooked my fave Prime Rib on Friday, dinners, watching basketball, and just staring at all the cute stuff in the nursery.

It was such a fun weekend we all had a blast, here’s a quick pic of me and Mom from dinner at Flatbush Farm on Saturday night

23 week update!

How far along? 23 weeks

Total weight gain: 3lbs.
Maternity clothes? not really, still rubber-banding my regular pants and opting for dresses with tights and leggings. I break out my one pair of mat jeans about every other week.
Stretch marks? nope.
Sleep: on a scale of 1-10, 10 being worst. I give it a 7. Not great my hips and back have really been hurting. We flipped our mattress and I’ve been doing my best to keep on my side at night with a pillow between my knees but I’m going to bit the bullet and get a body pillow—make room Kevs!
Best moment this week: sitting in long boring meetings (wait it gets better I promise) and then all of sudden baby kicks, moves, swirls. Reminds me how lucky I am to be pregnant, carrying this little baby around with me everywhere.
Miss Anything? Getting ready in the am is frustrating, I feel like I can never look cute and I always have to reinvent my outfits around this bump. Its a constant struggle.
Movement: Comes in spurts, baby loves to do these crazy moves around 930-10pm every night where it will contort itself into some crazy position and my stomach will BULGE looking like there’s an ALIEN in there.
Food cravings: mainly acidic things GRAPEFRUIT, lemonade, an occasional fountain coke.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Anything too rich, sauces, duck etc.
Gender: Baby BOY!!!!
Labor Signs: lets hope not.
Symptoms: still getting dizzy fairly often, fatigue.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy and grateful and very excited.
Looking forward to: a babymoon hopefully!!! I’ve been trying on my bikinis non-stop and I want to get some sun before this bump gets too big!!!

So I’m pregnant! (sorry meant to write this a while ago…like say Jan 11th)

Today I’m 18 weeks, and tomorrow I’m finding out what I’m having! Super excited!!!! This week I’ve been feeling well, I was oddly nauseous yesterday and got sick at work. (however since last week I finally told work that I was pregnant, it wasn’t as stressful as that experience had been for the first 3 months)

I have a tiny bump. Oh this little bump. Sometimes it feels a little squishy, sometimes its as hard as a rock. Sometimes I feel tiny, and like I’m barely showing, and then sometimes I feel like I’m being stretched and my belly feels tight and uncomfortable (usually late at night).

Napa Anniversary Trip!

Oh man the past month or so has been intense. Lets see, Kev and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary in NAPA. Truly a fantastic trip. Let’s see, we lounged drinking champagne, strolled the gorgeous hills, got couples mud wraps and then showered off together at the crazy decadent spa while the burly spa ladies awkwardly waited outside the shower door with our towels 🙂

We left Napa and then coasted down Highway 1 early in the morning, watching the fog roll off the bay, stopping every 10 miles to breathe deeply and pinch ourselves–is this place even real?

Stopped over at Hog Island Oyster Co. to shuck oh…you know a good mixed 5doz and throw back a few brewdogs……and then drove another 15 mins to Stinson beach to nap of course. GLORIOUS.

We finally arrived back in San Francisco, to meet up with our friends Luke and Katherine–not before tooling around in Pac Heights for a little shopping though.

The trip was just PERFECT, in every sense. It was a glorious 1 year anniversary, just GLORIOUS.
